Honeymoon in Santorini

Finally, we reached Santorini. My dream holiday!

I was so excited when I woke up in Rome, took the cab to the airport and flew via Blu Express straight to Santorini. Our flight tickets cost RM5k from Rome to Santorini and from Santorini, transit in Athens and then to Paris via AEGEAN Air. It's almost the same price from KL to Paris. But it was worth every penny.

When we reached Santorini airport, I felt like we just landed in Langkawi. No JOKE. There's alot of empty land on the way from airport to Oia. I wanted to stay at Oia because this village has the best sunset. We can't really see the ocean from the airport and we just saw many houses ( not the cave ones ) all around, till after 15 mins... we reach the coast and the view was AMAZING.

We booked our stay at Villa Katikies, one of the top hotel with the best swimming pool in the world according to a website that we found online.

We were given a mini tour because our room wasn't ready as we checked in about 11 morning.

Breathtaking :)

The temperature was about 26 degrees with a lot of sun ( clear skies ) and cooling air

Then we were ushered the room. Once we enter the room, I WAS LIKE WOAHHHHH!!!
It was huge, with a private jacuzzi at the balcony.

They even played classical music as we entered our honeymoon suite :) and were given a bottle of champagne.

I really love the colour theme of the room. So elegant and romantic.

After checking in, we went to a restaurant nearby for lunch.
Greek food are not too bad and Marcus enjoys it. He's addicted to OLIVES now! Hahaha, even bought some back to KL!

The GREEK salad is huge, served in a probably size of a large pizza plate.

After lunch, what we did was changed into our swim wear and just chill in the hotel the whole day!
ITS TIME TO RELAXXXXX no more walking exploring the city like ROME!

We went to the first mini swimming pool to check it out before the bigger one :)

After a couple of hours sun bathing, napping and sipping cocktails, we went to the mini igloo pool. This swimming pool is cold like ICE!

It's a good place to chill after a long HOT day :)

Finally, at about 6 / 7 pm, we went to explore Oia :)

I absolutely love walking in Oia, so many things to see and shop! and it's all walking distance!

Everyone waiting to watch the sunset at 8:40 pm and to my surprise, everyone claps their hands after the sun goes down.

The next morning, we had breakfast at our balcony before getting ready for our 5 hour catamaran ride :)

We booked a semi private catamaran which cost about RM 500 per person for 5 hours, including food and transportation as well.

I personally think that Greece is much cheaper compared with France and Italy. The people are much nicer too :)

Santorini doesnt have white sandy beaches, it's all mostly BLACK because it's located at the volcanic area. There is even one volcano which is still active.

Santorini used to be a huge volcano, then it erupted and became Snantorini.

The sand is black which is why the sea is darker blue compare to the Maldvies and there are less sea life.

Captain Nikos BBQ-ing for us! THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!!!! I think I ate the most! :P I whack all the prawns! LOL

After the catamaran ride, we went and explore Fira, which is the main town in Santorini and I absolutely LOVE IT!

There are more shops, restaurants and bars compare to Oia. Oia is more quiet and peaceful compared to Fira. Marcus rented the ATV and we drove along the coast to enjoy the scenery :)

Then, it was SHOPPING TIME!

I love walking in this town, so many things to see and I love walking in the alley and you'll never know what can be found!

Our day ended with us, watching sunset again with Mimosa and Mythos beer.

Gonna end the HONEYMOON post with a beautiful sunset picture and the MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION.
